PPI help - confused (as always)

Hi,
hopefully someone can advise me?
I was made redundant back in August 2008, I have been trying to cut costs as much as possible and when going through my credit card statement realised that i had forgotten about PPI that I had.
From what i can see on the net i am entitled to claim on this and they will pay 10% of my balance off every month for a maximum of 12 months. Am i reading this right or am I seeing what I want to see?
any help or advice would be appreciated.
