Commute - Chester to Liverpool?
Comments

Assuming you mean the centre of Liverpool? M53 thru the tunnel? M56/M6/M62 will be fast, but long. Don't be fooled by thinking going thru Warrington will save you time - it may be shorter but the traffic at rush house there is vile!0

Isn't it a very short train ride?0

Because of the cost of parking in the city, i know someone who drives but leaves their car the other side of the water and gets public transport across.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Yea, 40-45 mins (depending which station you want in Liverpool) with no changes. Trains every 30 minutes throughout the day, every 15 minutes in peaks.
Peak tickets are £6.20 return (I think). If driving, the tunnel toll is £1.40.
I think a monthly rail ticket brings it down to about £4.50 (20 working days a month) - which is obviously very competitive when compared to driving costs, parking costs and tunnel tolls.0 -
Liverpool to Chester, I'd use the train. Gets very congested in Chester during rush hour as well as around the tunnels and northern approaches to them.Conor
