CWP, make your concerns to James Purnell

Regarding CWP, contact James Purnell with your views on cwp and complain as i am sick at how the public who are entitled to it are given the cold shoulder or no info whatsoever, he is the Works and Pensions Secretary and his address is www.jamespurnell.org.uk and it says you should contact dwp but dont go on that site, just complain to him and given enough pressure we as one call get a response which will help us all.

I`m wondering exactly what your problem is regarding cwp?I`ve now received it twice in the last 3 weeks, and its been increased from £8-50 to £25 per payment,in the previous 10 years i had,had only one payment of £8-50.
As far as i`m concerned there are far more urgent matters to contact jimmy purnell about(who btw is my local MP)0 -

I 100% agree with this. You (OP, not woodbine!) appear to be moaning that the govt are giving you money?
If people kick up enough of a fuss about something without good reason, there is a very simple solution for the govt - scrap the payment altogether.
The purpose of the website you have referred to is for James Purnell's constituents to contact him on matters which concern him as their MP. This is a separate role to his position in the DWP, and as such, DWP matters should be addressed to Mr Purnell at the DWP.Gone ... or have I?0 -
I have to agree with the OP here dmg. My OH is on incap benefit. Before he met me, he had IS as a top up, but then discovered he was entitled to Industial Injuries benefit. This took him over the threshold for IS (I think it worked out that Incap + IIB was about £5 more than when he had Incap and IS). As a consequence, he was not entitled to CWP. When the cold weather comes, he is not able to go outside as it affects his bones. Therefore the heating is on more but he is not entitled to anything (incidentally this also includes not being entitled to the winter fuel allowance). However, if he was a single parent on benefits topped up by IS, he'd get help via CWP. It wasn't his fault he was involved in an accident resulting him in never being able to work again. Now, where is the justice in that?0

the whine I have with cold weather payments is that the weather station fpr us is a long way from me and I'm 1000ft higher up than it is !!
But then I suppose if it mattered so much to me then I'd move eh...

Excuse me:i`m fully aware that he`s an MP in fact he`s my local MP as it happens, also I AM entitled to cwp and in fact in the last 3 weeks i`ve had 2
If you feel you are also entitled to it but havent received it perhaps you should do something about it like contacting your BDC,or even jimmy purnell, although dont hold your breath as an MP he doesnt like answering emails, doubt he does as sec of state either:rolleyes:0
