What to say at meeting with senior disability advisor?

Options
hi,

I have a meeting tommorrow with someone (more) senior in disability services re my dyslexic who I have posted before about on here.

I have been allocated two different ones in the past semester; the first was horribly patronising and the second refuses to do anything which relates to actual work. They both enforce hierarchy on me, honestly its like meeting a teacher sometimes, we do want they want to do which they decide for me is beneficial .... I'm sick of it to be quite honest.

I've had good advisors who werent like this at all but they've left for better jobs, or theyre often students in some way themselves so move for a postgrad position...

I tried speaking to the normal disability advisor and she was less use than a chocalate fireguard. I'm worried what's going to be said as in this uni the disability in particular have a way of making you into the unreasonable one or implying that your asking for something beyond their call.

Any ideas on how I can get the most out of this meeting as I really valued my support when it been good and know I benefit a lot from it.

lol this is more one on one tutorial support but yes I guess that's what I can do ... I am super organised but I often come over as not IYSWIM, the one item that I dont have on that day will the one that I am asked to produce sort of thing ....

dyslexia is rubbish ... I would swap it for red hair
  • i have red hair.... its 4.00 a bottle, dyslexia is to keep people guessing what you are really trying to say, kinda philosphic reading between the lines :)
