my charger for my lappy broke last night, it just stopped working! EEEKK
And i have soooo many essays, exams and reports coming up I NEED IT!
Also my mums computer is cahoots just now as well...has been for the past week or so..but thats another story!
Luckily our neightbour had a spare tower kicking about to let us borrow for now, so i have internet access on my mums pc...VERY limited access though, as her, my dad and little brother all share this pc!
So where can i get a new charger for my Dell lappy? Cheaply please?
Or could anyone give me the phone number for Dell and i can give them a wee ring in the morning!
please i'm a desperate student who is nearly pulling her hair out! lol

it may just be the wires broken between the plug and the round filter at the very end of the lead
bottom right of this pisture
it bends when it gets moved while plugged in and is a well known fault , uplug from the mains and split the plastic covering with a craft knife or something , you should then be able to see where the outer metal coating is split and join it , sometimes the outer and inner wires are broken and you need to cut back the covering and join the inner ends together , and then the out wire ends together , keep them seperated with some insulating tape , or as a very temp fix , some selotape
otherwise Maplin do a generic Laptop power supply that will do the honours , which is cheaper then the real dell one , or look on ebayEx forum ambassador

If your computer is running slow it could be a sign that you are infected with malware.

Is it by any chance a Dell Inspiron 1300. They are very prone to breaking the jack in the laptop itself where the power supply plugs into. (as are a lot of Dell models)
If holding the plug into the back of the machine and 'jiggling' it up and down reestablishes the power then thats your problem, not the PSU.0
