Hi Pastures,
Just a thought... Have you tried the local library service? It strikes me that you are very structured and like dealing with knowledge and information, that could be a good area to work in, it would also give you an 'in' to your County Council (if that's where you want to work) and build on dealing with the general public in a way that maybe you could use later at the CAB.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

LOL, poor you - but isn't it standard practice to hang up once people start swearing? Shouldn't the pond life learn to ask nicely for their hand outs, or does that breach their 'human rights' in some way...?
I think my main problem is I've never wanted to do ANYTHING really. I've wanted to be retired ever since I started work!'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0 -

Thing is, there simply aren't going to be enough well-paid jobs left to soak them up, as many won't have the relevant experience.
but there wont be ANY jobs by then so that wont matter.:rolleyes:0 -
Those sort of people would sit at home using the job centre website as apposed to traveling to a local job centre. Don't mean to be cocky, just realistitc.0

I wouldn't mind doing a part time job I enjoyed (what I do tbh) but working really hard all your life then dying, hardly seems like a good life plan to me. Hats off to those of you that do it though.

If that was the case then half of the calls would have been terminated after 30 seconds, more ofteh than not as soon as you put the phone down it just rang again and so the swearing continued.
There was of course the usual targets, deadlines, customer focus drivel which meant you needed to keep them on the line in the (vain) hope that you'd get some meaningful information form them.
Also if you needed to ring them they were never in, they were job hunting I suppose.
I would imagine things haven't changed a great deal."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".

If you want to whine then whine at amcluesent for being rude about disabled people.
Oh and PS, amcluesent: I *got* that you weren't being rude about real disabled people!0 -
I'd be interested to know his "normal" ID, myself....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

We went to the job centre a few years back. Mrs. P had been unwell and had some years away from work. We were looking for advice on how to get her back into a job. They were hopeless. Kept going on about bennies even when we told them that we wouldn`t qualify. Didn`t stop them sending us a letter to confirm that fact. As for advice, forget it. Btw, it was chavvy in the extreme.0
