I tried to play an episodal dvd in my pc earlier and got a grey error box message saying disc could not play because of one of the following reasons;
disc dirty
disc scratched
region locked dvd drive
I know my drive is region free I so checked the disc.It has light scratches but nothing deep.I cleaned it and put it back but got same message.I tried it in a proper dvd player and it plays ok so took it back to the pc.This time no messages and media player is not even recognising it. Going into properties of the dvd/rom is not showing it up either.Any ideas please

Its the disc I suspect then, try a light polish with a bit of
brasso then some car wax, on a soft clean cloth.
Or buy a scratch removal thingy.0 -

As you say it mentions Region Code.
If the DVD is an import then it won't play, NORMALLY

thanks for the link Matty,but I am already a similar programme.However this is not an import disc,It's a UK rental disc.I tried Intel's suggestion but still no joy with it being recognised by a pc.Plays ok on proper dvd player though.Do not understand this at all...0
