Capped tariffs and moving house.. :-(
I signed up with Scottish Power just before all the huge increases last year, on a capped rate until Oct 2009. I knew there was a possibility of us moving house in the future so double checked about taking the capped tariff with us. MSE's main article says "Nearly all providers will allow you to take your existing tariff with you when you move though do double check with it." Scottish Power's website at the time said you can move home and take the tariff with you, no problem.
We're moving home next weekend. I've just rang Scottish Power, only to be told that we can't take our capped tariff with us because
a) they aren't the current supplier at the new address (it's Eon), and
b) they no longer sell the tariff we are currently on.
I am not a happy bunny.

Is your capped tariff a better deal than anything else on the market? Can you ask the people at the new address to start the process of switching supplier now? Are you worried about being charged to leave SP?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
