I am about to get a Sony Bravia KDL-26V4000 TV. This will be the first LCD TV that I have bought and was wondering if there was a list of the optimal settings for this TV. Are they fairly straight forward to set up so one has a good clear picture with the correct colour balance etc? What about tuning? The TV will not be used for playing games but for watching TV, DVD and viewing photos

Turn off all the digital processing (noise reduction, contrast and colour etc)
use a THX disc to set the Contrast and Brightness (if you have one)
If you google your tv along with 'calibration' youll almost certainly find an av site that has your settings:idea:0 -
What is a THX disc and where can I get one from? I am also looking for a Digital Video Essentials disc does any one know where I can get one of these?0

You'll probably find a thread on the settings on a website called "AVForums.
They have most LCD TV settings on there.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £16,087.170 -

If you've not bought it yet, DON'T. The V range is entry level and the picture quality is disappointing compared to similar priced LG and Panasonic.Conor
