Boiler keeps turning itself on and off, what could the problem be?

I wonder if anyone could help me.

I am renting my house out while living in Bermuda and have been informed that after a gas check on the house the combi boiler needs fixing because it keeps turning itself off.

They have quoted $350 (quid not pound sign on my keyboard), i was just wondering if there may be a simple reason or solution for this as the house is only 5 years old.

Since we have rented it out we have had 3 problems with the plumbing and now this in 1 year, we had no problems previously so i am a bit suspicious of the letting agent/tenant taking the !!!!!!.

But can you not get a care contract?

What do you mean by "Turning itself off"?. If it shuts down just after it starts up and then restarts when it cools down, it could be that the pump is faulty.

Were you aware of any problem before the gas check?

All boilers cycle on and off to some degree, and combi boilers often ignite momentarily when a toilet in the property is flushed if a double check valve and expansion vessel have not been fitted in the mains pipe work due to 'water bounce'.

Definitely needs more info, make and model will help.
