Eon Fixed Price Tariff - Early termination fee due to moving house?
Apologies if this has been posted before but I couldnt seem to find anything searching the forum.
I have been supplied by EON for around 12 months. 9 months ago I signed up to a tariff which fixed my energy prices until October 2009. In a few weeks I am planning to move out but am not sure where I stand with regards to the early termination fee of 35 pounds.
I am confused as I am not tecnically changing supplier through my own choice. Also at the new property I will not be responsible for the utility bills, so cannot take the tariff wth me either (I have read somewhere before that this may have been an option).
Any thoughts much appreciated if anyone has come across this before. I havent phoned EON yet but was just wondering if the 35 pounds is something I will have to just factor into my moving costs, or if there is any other way of negotating around it.
Thanks, James

You didn't have free will when you chose to take out the capped tariff with an x months contract? You didn't have free will when you chose where to flit?
It's unfortunate that you are not able to transfer your supplier to your new digs but that's just one of those things and a gamble you take when you take out a contract with early cancellation penalties.0 -
you can normally transfer the tariff if you get eon to supply your new property- is there any reason why you cannot pick your supplier? if your not actually taking your supply anywhere, the charge will not stand.0

The £35 charge is for the energy saving monitor if you cancel and don`t take the product with you when you move house. I don`t know what happens if you`re not going to be responsible for paying the energy bills. In the terms and conditions it says they "may" charge.0
