It's not really a problem for me as only get a small amount of IS now, but I can see how it would be a problem for someone who falls into the crack that means they won't receive a payment for 3 weeks, even with a crisis loan it could be difficult.0 -

It seems that if they do order it thusly you will still perceive it to be totally at random! (I mean this sweetly. Don't take umbrage.)0 -

This then became 2 as I had to wait 9 weeks for any money to come in as my ex employer was lazy and evasive when it came to sending back the paperwork sent by the DWP. Anyway, long story short, they're taking so much of my JSA off me now I am now needing crisis loans to survive as they leave me short!! It's a vicious cycle.
I agree in principle but this is not really the same as a crisis loan!
For a start, it is offered to everyone receiving the benefits and affected by the changes, with no need to justify a need - you simply sign and return the form.
Also, the repayment schedule is very clearly stated on the letter so people know exactly what they are signing up for and when the money will be repaid etc.
It really is very simple and not in the same league as crisis loans.0 -
I'm currently receiving Carers allowance and Income support on a weekly basis. Am I correct in thinking that I will continue to get the Carers Allowance on a weekly basis but the Income Support on a fortnight;y basis? If that is the case then Its going to be really fun living on £53.11 alternate weeks!! Can anyone conffirm this?0

It's already difficult to manage on less than £90 per week and this just seems to be making life difficult just for the sake of it. It also has the chance of disrupting bill payments etc.0
