BUying sky+ independently??

Is it possible to buy a sky+ box say from ebay then setting up along with your current sky package? or do you have to get from sky direct etc?

Not if the OP already has a Sky package in use which it seems they have.

buy from wherever you like, once you have it wired up (2 feeds from the LNB) call sky and they will enable the record functions (so long as you subscribe to something, the +function is not available for freesat from sky)
did it myself a couple of months ago, cost me under a fiver to upgrade.

If you've got a dish with more than one output, then yes you can just get one off Ebay. You'll need to run another cable from the dish as a Sky+ box needs two.

If you've got the standard sky LNB for a non sky+ box, by the time you've fannied around it's cheaper to get Sky to do it.
