Hi, my name is Duncan and I help organise Tapton Juniors U13 Football Club. Does anybody have any good ideas for fundraising?Getting the funds together for buying kit, balls, travel is proving to be a recurring nightmare. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :T

I replied to this post on the GuideStar UK forum providing some useful resources for fundraising ideas. Please see the following link for these: http://forums.guidestar.org.uk/Topic1679-11-1.aspx0

Firstly, many thanks for your suggestions. I have been given lots of good ideas up to yet, from lots of great people. These range from bag packing at local supermarkets through to grant applications (and so much inbetween which I would never have thought of!). Please keep the ideas coming in, I shall compose a list and post it here so people facing the same difficulties have a quick reference guide.
Anything to avoid the embarrassment of asking the same parents to put into the pot time and time again! I know we can do this with our own ingenuity and a little determination. Thank you once again for your support!0 -
I think the other important thing to do is to not look at this as a one-off, short term thing. Plan what funds you will need over the next 2 or 3 years and how you will riase them. For instance, if you get a one-off grant for kit and equipment, you know that for the next 2 years you are mainly looking to fund your travel costs, so future fundraising events can be planned to cover these, at the times when they will be needed.

Missed the boat for this year, but...........
How about a calendar - our Rugby club did this and was very successfull.
Pennies I know - but how about a raffle every match day - even if you have to buy a bottle of something you'll double your money.
Do you do refreshments? again VERY lucrative.0
