Totally agree, this is the nicest thread on here, its like coming back to old friends, there are a few other nice threads, but some people I'm sure they just come on the board to cause a row, and they would swear black is white.
Stay in here, dont go far..............
I know what you mean, I started a thread last week asking for some advice on our contents insurance and got some really helpful replies, and then a couple of posters decided to bicker with each other, and one told me that I wasn't very MSE - maybe I wasn't very MSE before, but the reason for asking the advice in the first place was so that I could learn from others experience - hey ho, you read far worse on some of these threads - I can only assume that some people just love to be miserable. Unlike everyone on this thread. Happy Monday to you all.0 -

Ladies, ladies, Ladies......
Remember the Rudolph club we hold every 25th of the month? Well I set you some challenges within the club to completeYou did read my HUGE post.. didn't you? LOL
Your challenges for this month:
We all have someone we love. It may be a pet, a sibling (yeh right) or a child. You could suprise an elderly neighbour (no lapdancing) or of course.. your partner :j (if you are unfortunate enough to have one).Your challenge is to create a valentines gift to make someone feel loved on valentines day. Make someones day. You don't have to be amazingly crafty.. you could write a letter of thanks or bake some cakes.Deadline: Pictures to be shown here 12th February. Lets share the loveMake pancakes or some other culinary delight!
Don't forget to get your goodies in for Shrove tuesday (Feb 24th) whilst the offers start trickling into the supermarkets over the forthcoming month. Every year they sell out and people are in a mad panic for Jif Lemons! We want to see your pancake pictures!!Mothers Day (march 22nd) - Show some intuition
If you have a mother to celebrate then please remember mothers day! But here at thrifty gifty.. we don't do normal.. OH NO! You need to produce something that shows that extra bit of care. Perhaps a phone call, a poem in a card, a home made gift, a dinner cooked.. Share your ideas here and be organised in time for the day.Not all of us have a someone to share this day with so I would like those of you to make it special for yourself. Do something that bit special for you. Buy a nice box of chocolate, perhaps a candlelit bath, take a day trip out. Your choice!Again.. Pics!!!:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -

Hello everyone! I did join your lovely thread quite a few weeks ago but I couldn't keep up with you all and do all my daily grind stuff so had to duck out  but I've nipped back cos I've got a couple of ideas for valentine's day/ mother's day that I'd like to share with you (have posted these on other threads but maybe you chaps haven't seen them)...
I made a simple heart decoration using some red felt, wadding, ribbon and some thread. I printed a heart using Word, cut it out and used as a template for the felt. I blanket stitched round the edges (be gentle with me, I know it's not great but it was the first time I'd done blanket stitch)...
I've also made a couple of 'quote books' in the last 2 weeks, one for my OH for his birthday and one for a friend who's a mum. I've used little books and scrapbooking supplies to decorate them. I found quotes on the internet and printed out in different fonts, they look quite effective (I think?). Thing is this can cost as much or as little as you want it to as you could do the whole thing just using some bits of card and paper and a pen or go the whole hog with matching everything (I used bits and bobs that I had already).
Here are a few pics of what I've made and I plan to make some more as I think they make great pressies...
Sorry for all the pics:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Aurora Thank you so much for your advice, I will do that. I have got some cod liver oil capsules and evening primrose but I keep forgetting to take them and haven't for a long while now. I will start today! I love the sound of your cute little chocolate cakes don't forget to show pics so I can drool over them and be jealous LOL
Jammy I love Lost so bad I am like a small child when it is time to watch it. I am such a Lost freak that when I saw the billboards on the side of the road it gave me goosebumps!! I visit lostpedia.com where they are CRAZY. Every episode is analysed through High definition captures enlarged to see every detail. I even know what Mrs. Hawkings has wrote on her blackboard! They are really good because spoilers give you a ban unless they are in the spoiler section. OMFG.. JIN!!!! I LOVE Jin!!! Hows your house coming along? Did you decide on invitations yet?
Phunkles lets see your cards you madeHow can you not use glitter!!!
SugarSpun I am so happy for youCompletely agree with Sylphy.. Get yourself some pictures taken! I always felt like there was loads of time left and I would do it soon but then the baby came and I was rushed off my feet and the pictures never happened. Now I die with envy over everyone elses pics!! Love the swimming costume story.. LMAO!
And now to contradict myself...
Sylph Have got no idea what youre on about with your DR who so will just smile sweetly and nod.. You are so gorgeous you can have pictures now and be proud. The way I see pre-pregnancy photographs is.. they're just to show you up and serve as reminders to your husband of what you used to look like LOL Sometimes I go through pics and when I see myself I go bright red because I know people are thinking 'whoah.. she piled on the pounds... look how much smaller she used to be..'
Big hello to everyone else.. I can't be bothered to go back ANOTHER page I have typed too much now LOL. Am I wrong to be excited that valentines night is THE night for scattymam.. BOOM CHICKA WOW!!:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
