Air miles card

Since cashback cards seem to have bitten the dust & I'm pretty canny at paying almost all or all of my balance each month (those that aren't on 0% deals anyhow) is the Lloyds TSB card the only credit card offering airmiles?

Since travel is my luxury and I've never been rich I'm already converting my Tesco clubcard vouchers into airmiles, I decided to get more by using an airmiles card each time I shop online & pay it off every month.

Ideas please?

Is it specifically Airmiles you're after - if not you could consider a card with a specific airline.
  • Yes, generic airmiles so I have a pretty wide choice.

The Tesco clubcard credit card could also be a good shout as club card points can be converted to airmiles and the conversion rate is pretty favourable.

Their ad says 'the only card with airmiles' so I'm pretty sure they must be...
  • As already mentioned, a Tesco credit card may be worth considering - I know you don't directly earn airmiles, but you earn points that can be converted (as you do already), so effectively you're earning airmiles on it. Not sure if this gives more or less of a reward than Lloyds TSB, though.
  • Just done some calculations...

(this is under the assumption that the Tesco CC wouldn't be used at Tesco [because otherwise it gives more benefits] and also that the Amex version of the Lloyds TSB account is used)

A £40 spend on the Tesco CC would give 2.4 airmiles, where as
a £40 spend on the Amex Lloyds TSB CC would give 4 airmiles.

So you're better off with the Lloyd TSB card (if you don't shop at Tesco).

kerching! I have got a Tesco finest credit card, ta for the reminder! I'll dust it orf and use that as well.:money:
  • Was wondering if anybody has had any luck claiming the 200 airmiles introduce a friend offer on top of the 1500 miles currently running on the LLoyds TSD Airmiles Duo card?

I have just applied for the card, my girlfriend is going to apply for one in few weeks after I get my card, we do live at the same address
