How long to relet a property?

After looking at the finances it doesnt add up us living where we are so we asked our agent for a early release of our contract, they have been really understanding and even said there is a property which might suit us!
However we can only be released when they find another tenant does anyone know the average length of time it would take to relet a property?
This property was empty for 4 months before we moved in but i dont know if that was because they were trying to sell it?
I stupidly looked online and have found a lovely property slightly bigger but £150 a month less, with lower council tax as well.. which is what we could do with price wise but i dont want to end up with two properties as thats happened before and wouldn't help the finances!

Doesn't add up for you. Cheaper out there.
It'll be tough. List the things that drew you to rent this place.0 -
You can't tell. In the block where I live there are two flats, both were available at the same time.
1] Flat 1, nicer, separate bedroom, was bought in August.
2] Flat 2, not so nice, studio room.
Flat 1 has not been rented to this day
Flat 2 had the new tenant move in the same day the last tenant moved out. Old tenant moved out, in went the cleaners and checkers, then in went the new tenant
The real difference? The letting agent used.
If the good letting agent had both properties on their books they'd both be let out by now. As it is, the flat that was bought to let in August still hasn't had a tenant in it ... in fact it only gets one viewing every 4-6 weeks now.0
