Surestart maternity grant - how long is it taking to process?

Hi
A the title says, has anyone recently applied for this and how long did it take to come through?
I havent applied for nearly 5 years, and back then it took about 2/3 weeks.

    i applied for mine 2 weeks ago and i sent it to my local jobcentre on the thursday the follwoing friday i got payment in my bank so 6 working days and that was just before xmas..

    it is money from the government if you meet qualifying criteria.
    £500 per child (so twins £1000 etc)

    Ah well, my wife works so looks like we're not entitled for the grant.

    me and my oh work and we are still entitled.
    do you have children already, if not you should be entitled once the baby is born.

    this qualifying criteria from the website. Claim if you receive:
    • Income Support
    • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
    • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
    • Pension Credit
    • Working Tax Credit which includes a disability or severe disability element
    • Child Tax Credit, at a higher rate than the family element

    On the form I have here in front of me it says you are eliglbe if you receive
    *Child Tax Credit, at a higher rate than the family element, from April 2008 to April 2009 this means a rate of £548 a year or more, or £1095 a year or more if you have a baby under one.

    I sent mine off 1 week ago, nothing hear yet but I thought it would be at least 2 weeks.
