Switch off heating system?
Hi, I am going on a holiday for more than a month. Just wondering if its good to turn off the central heating and gas supply? If switched off, would there be a problem of pipes frosting etc when i return. i dont want to be stuck in a cold house after a nice warm holiday!!! Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I would leave your system on, most modern boilers have built in frost control whereby the boiler will cycle should the temp drop below 5 degrees.
If you have a room stat you could also set the temp at say 5 degrees, at least the house will never freeze and will take the chill away, well worth a bit of gas useage while your away.
If you have not already you should get you pipes lagged, you can buy ready made covers in diy shops for a couple of quid.0
