Great Bank , excellent customer service too. Believe they were offering free wine a while ago . Been with then from the introduction of online banking and had no probs at all. HTH.0

Am with smile just now and their customer service is very good. That all said, I am in the process of moving to Nationwide. Better interest rate on my current account - better interest rate on the savings account (ok not by much) and at least Nationwide tell you that they are reducing interest rates, unlike smile who sneakily updated their website interest rate without sending out an email like they do for everything else.
Disappointed that they cut their ISA rate by more than the BoE rate last time around and no doubt they'll cut it again when interest rates drop at some point in the near future. Get all the same services with NW - including that oddity called a "branch"- and can pay in via a handy ATM if need be.
V good website and emails answered promptly and usually correctly first time although never had any major problems that needed sorting out.0 -
been with Smile for over a year, mainly for the ethical thing, and I've found the customer service to be excellent.0

I was with smile for three years which started off ok but sometimes found their customer service not always up to scratch. I needed a bankers reference when moving house and smile delayed the whole thing, give me lots of misleading info and then had the cheek to charge me for it. I found their internet site to be quite basic and the online statements had little information making hard to distinguish what was a direct debit or visa purchase. I decided to switch to Nationwide which has decent rates, a great website, charges no fees for overseas withdrawls and you always have access to branch when you need it.0

Great bank, no problems. Even tried smile more.......free car breakdown assistance and free travel insurance. Well worth it as I had to prolong a stay in NZ and they had to buy me a flight home at over £900! So I'd say it's a good deal.0

Thanks folks have been looking at nationwide too . Only thing is my hubby pays money into my account weekly at present by a standing order . Nationwide do not have this facility it is only monthly . It's a bit of a shame as we do have a local branch & we have just changerd our mortgage to them .Take my hand & we'll make it I swear0
