Barclaycard Loophole

Hi everyone. Could anyone tell me if the barclaycard loophole still exists. I currently have a platinium barclaycard but am coming to the end of my 0% deal. I would like to use the card for a long term life of balance so as to pay the debt off but do not know if this is offered to existing customers. I read Martin's article on the barclaycard loophole a few months ago but it has since been removed from the main site. Does this loophole still exist?

The 6.9% offer is still available. Just ring up and ask. Did it myself a couple of weeks ago.0

I'm on the same boat (0% platinum deal ends this month), and rang up yesterday to be told that I don't qualify for a BT at all at the moment. Would be interested to hear whether anyone else is having any more luck...0

I had the same issue too.
So then I said I'd like to close the account and the foreign guy in the call centre said ok and it was closed in seconds.
Not sure if it's because my balance was 0 and they just didn't want to give me a balance transfer.
I'm not keen on Barclaycard anymore.0 -
It would depend how much you're worth to them I think. Do you pay interest? Use the card a lot? If so they'll do more for you... if you hardly ever use it, you're probably costing them money so they'd rather close it and free up the funds...I had the same issue too.

To be honest, it was probably more to do with the fact that he was speaking to someone in a foreign call centre with a limited grasp of english who just follows instructions rather than a uk call centre who can try and forge a deal with you to keep your custom.0

I have went ahead and transferred my balance to another card that I dont really use. So I now have to phone up and try and see of I can get the 6.9% life of balance deal with Barclaycard. If I get somebody in a foreign call centre should I just hang up or can you speak to somebody in a UK call centre?0
