Be aware of a new car-jacking scheme.
You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside, lock the doors, start the engine and select reverse. You look into your rear view mirror to back out of your parking space and notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear screen. So you shift back into park or neutral, unlock the doors and get out to remove the paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.
When you reach the back of your car the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. Your engine was running and you would have left your handbag, briefcase in the car.
APART FROM TAKING ANYTHING OF VALUE, THEY MIGHT FIND YOUR ADDRESS AND THEY ALREADY HAVE YOUR KEYS!!!
Remember, if you see your rear view blocked like this, just drive away and remove the paper later!
THIS SCAM IS HAPPENING IN LONDON RIGHT NOW AND WILL SURELY SPREAD TO OTHER AREAS. JUST BE AWARE AND TAKE CARE!!

This scam is not happening now and has never happened.

It is often worth checking out the snopes site as it saves what is in effect spamming. I know you meant well but these things just run round office emails if someone doesn't bother to check the facts first.0 -

Instead of writing this off as rubbish, I'd rather be careful and take heed of this, although I'd never be stupid enough to ever set foot outside the car with the keys anywhere else but in my pocket.
If you leave keys in the car and leave then it's like saying 'Please, take my car, I don't want it'. :rolleyes:0 -
I'd never see it anyway, as I always reverse into spaces :rolleyes:0

Oh, reverse parking, how I love it. I could reverse park all day. I'm serious! I think it's becoming an obsession!0

It would have to be a big piece of paper to warrant me getting back out of my car to remove it - otherwise I would just use the windscreen wipers to remove it!Weight Loss - 102lb0

Watch out - they may also try to spray you with perfume which is actually knock-out gas.0

You think that's bad? My sisters friend's ex-boyfriend's stepbrother's teacher's half sister once woke up in a bath of ice after a party and found her kidneys missing!0 -

Not only that, these people also use 'flashy-things' which erase your memory - they trick you into thinking you're having a photo taken and FLASH, your memory's gone... :rotfl:0 -
O, so that's what happened to me! :rotfl:
What were we talking about, anyway?Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

I get hoax-slayer to keep up to date with scam emails
BUT......with this sort of thing in circulation, you have to ask yourself......how many unscrupulous people are there who have also received it and might actually want to try it out.....???
I would just be aware that it COULD happen, but ignore any scare-mongering info about where it is happening, etc.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
