Sainsburys Credit Card - Which bank?

Which card company backs the Sainsburys Credit Card or is it themselves?
I ask because I have the amexe Nectar card and an MBNA but find on many ocasions reatilers will not accept the amex so I want to change it for the Sainburys one thats a Mastercard.
