Parking ticket -confusing sign

Parked my car beside the Parking sign 6:00AM-6:00PM one Hour free at 9:00pm on Christmas Eve in Hereford. Half an hour later got a parking ticket for parking in the Taxi Rank. Spoke to the police officer and he showed me a small Taxi rank sign 7:00pm-7:00am ten yards away. Even himself found both signs misleading and confusing and he told me that he would park exactly the same space where I parked my car. He was only know when one of the Taxi told him the sign.
Later on I found out that apparently the Taxi Rank sign was put up about six
months ago, and lots of motorists got caught with this. No appeal has ever
been sucessful.
I felt cheated with this council. It must have raised loads of money and
get away with it. I hope other councils in UK does not copy this dirty
trick.

Ok good - but maybe not good, depending on what you have said in appeal.
Need to see the PCN - ALL of it and pics of signs and road markings at the location.

Many Taxi ranks are non compliant with legislation. The marked bay and signage has to comply otherwise it is unenforceable. The council will not concede this willingly.
Is the bay yellow? Does it have 'Taxi' marked on the road next to it? What exactly does the signage say and does the sign include other details about any other restriction and where is the sign in relation to the bay and at what height?0
