Portfolio can't be found on website

I have kept details of my portfolio on a financial site for a few years. In the past there have been problems and I have been unable to log in. One of their senior people told me I must use Internet Explorer to access the site. After that everything was fine. Now, they have my portfolio listed under a name I have used very rarely in the past but there are no details. My portfolio is empty. It is obvious they have made changes to the site and I think this is the problem but they say there is no problem their end. Can anyone suggest a reason why they can see the details and I can't?.

Just out of interest, is the site an https (padlock in bottom right corner) site when you attempt to log in?

    Good morning Free....
No, it has no padlock but, would you believe, it opened up straight away this morning.
All my details are there. One think I did do differently was to enter "co.uk " when doing the search whereas yesterday I was using .com Do you think this would make a difference? At least I can now see all my losses. Very depressing but no point in selling.

You should save sites that you regularly visit as Bookmarks (Firefox) or Favourites (IE) so that you don't need to search and end up on some dodgy site.

Definitely do this for any financial sites that you use as by searching you could go somewhere you really don't want to be!
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:

Hi Espresso, The name of the site was the same, it was just that I was using .com when I should have used co.uk. I do think that with many well known sites you would still get there even with this error. Also, I have wondered in the past why this particular site is not secure i.e. with a padlock, but they don't sell anything. The portfolio is just a service they offer and it's better than any others I have tried. The site is used by people interested in the stock market and by financial advisers. Once again, thank you for your interest/advice. I will make sure the bookmarks I have made are listed correctly.
