A big thanks to all the comp posters for their effort0 -
It's an iPod or an also-ran.
The iPod Touch is the coolest, and works rather well too.
The earphones are awful though.0 -
got an iTouch, loaded all my CDs onto it, plugged it into my car.....can play all the music, but there are no album/title lists or playlists, and I can't transfer the music to the hard disc in the car either. Not impressed!0

Whaddya mean no album/title lists - the iPod Touch has them and also the cover art rolodex view.
The iPod doesn't allow you to take files off it - something to do with copy protection.0 -
My OH has a creative zen and loves it. He didn't want an ipod as he doesn't rate them.Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680

Which mp3 player is most like an ipod touch? How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard - Winnie the Pooh0

I got a sansa view by sandisk, looks alsmost identical to an ipod, my 16Gb one was only £90, and it supports microsd cards, so you can basically make it bigger as you need it. I love it and have had no problems with it since I bought it.0

He's a window cleaner so not sure if you can buy a water resistant one
Not too important.
Just wondered if anyone can suggest a make or a deal they have seen on their travels. Not sure what they are so don't want to buy a rubbish one.
Thanks in advance
what's the budget, and how big (both physically, and in terms of numbe rof 'choons' it will hold) are you looking for?
I got an ipod nano given to me as a pressie, and I can safely say that whilst it looks really swish and the click-wheel is a good idea, it is one of the most un-intuitive gadgets I have ever used (and i-tunes is absolutely appalling to use... I am always dubious of software that forces you to enter your credit card details before you can do anything). Others may disagree, but they have been sucked in and assimilated with the Apple clan!
Recently bought a zen mp3 player for the MIL, and despite being a pensioner, she is able to use it with ease - having no probs loading songs etc. So brownie points there.
Finally, if you just want something cheap and cheerful, you could consider soemthing like an ipod shuffle (i said LIKE... LIKE...!!!!:rotfl: ) - merely because it is hyper-portable. But this means you won't be able to pick what song you are listening to etc.0 -
Strange about I Tunes - I find it easy to use and have never had to enter my credit card number, indeed I have never bought anything off the site and it is really easy to load up your CDs in it. The shuffle (I did not buy it, I won it!) is easy to use and who needs to choose the next song when you've only got your favourite stuff on it anyway? What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
