Thanks for that NickX.
I will have to get the full details. It may be that he made a late payment and was moved over to MBNA as punishment.
That couldn't happen but I like the idea of being moved to MBNA as a punishment!
With an RBS group card it's unlikely the debt would be passed on/sold on to any other company without months of seeking at least token repayments.0 -
MBNA buy and run a lot of affiliate cards and have taken over many from RBS over the years. This is not personal to you ! What card was it originally ?
The RodentMy posts are my opinion which is neither right nor wrong.0 -
Thanks Rodent. As I understand it, it was a RBS card.0

There seems to be some missing data here for a reasonable line of advice. Firstly if the card was passed on to another company merely through administration purposes then the new company must honor the contracted 0% interest period. This will not apply if the 0% interest period had expired anyway. It's not relly made clear whether the debt has been passed to another credit card company or to a collection agency. Perhaps these questions could be clarified. Then if the debt has been passed to a collection agency I suggest you post on the DFW board ( debt free wannabe ) and get some good help

Thank you Meth and all of the contributors here.
Apologies for not giving the full details to you all. Unfortunately my son is not very forthcoming with the full info. He just explained that his credit card was passed on to the MBNA @36% and the total bill is for around £7000.00 !!
I will try to get some more details and thank you all for your assistance.0
