Parking Fine For Plumber

Hi All
My Husband received an emergency call out last Sunday from an elderly couple(he`s a Plumber). There were residential parking bays outside the property and as the couple did not have a car, my Husband parked in one of them and put a notice on his screen to say where he was working. Half an hour later he completed the job and had received a £50 parking fine.
Does anyone have any ideas whether it would be worth fighting? Otherwise, how are tradesmen supposed to attend to jobs when they have heavy tools to carry and no-where `legal` to park .

Many Thanks

Sharon Sinclair

Sorry to sound a bit blunt but what was it you didn't understand about the advice given to three previous posters - to start a thread for your case!

Info needed. Firstly which Council? (crucial).

Really need to see ALL of the PCN but tell me what Council and I can tell you if it worth us looking at (error possibilities).

Pics of location and signage and road markings give possibilities of appeal as well.

Ok. Seems the helpful board guide 'crabman' has sorted it for you.

Info as requested please. Lots of possibilities and even if not, at least you will know.

He would have been fined for not displaying a residents permit or visitors permit. You can't fight it really unless there's an administrative error. As for heavy tools, a plumber hardly carries anywhere near the definition of heavy tools.

Oooops. Not what I wanted to hear.

    PCNs compliant AFAIK.

IME quite intransigent and unhelpful. (i.e. one of the few that refuse to exercise 'discretion' for Blue Badge mistakes first time round)

Really need pics of signs and markings at location to progress.

Quick question. Was there also some kind of 'permit' displayed (i.e. valid in another area)? I ask because the penalty amount is wrong based on your description so far - should be £70 i think. What does the contravention say?
