I signed up to get them a few months back but never knew i'd have to pay for it!!! I was bloody gobsmacked when i got an invoice from them for £3.75! I think its disgusting personally, you shouldn't have to pay for the catalogue, and its even more disgusting that i wasn't made aware of this fact when i was signing up to recieve them!

They probably have no legal case against you. Unless you signed a piece of paper which said I agree to pay £3.75 then just ignore them.

When you sign up it does say in small wording at the bottom that there is a charge for the catalogue - you even get a chance to cancel it if you read your invoice, when their is going to be a new catalogue coming out it tells you the number to call if you do not want it and your self serve number is on every invoice.

So they deliver it before you pay for it? Well that's just asking for trouble.

I recently placed an order online and have now received a directory that i do not want.
Having looked at my November statement it does say you can cancel it.
I'll be more on the ball next time.
How often do these things come out in the year?

My OH rang and cancelled the directory on an automated line and its still turned up. Just waiting to see if they actually send a bill for it now.

Even if they do send it just tell them you never asked for it.

PLUS you are missing the main factor which is YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT TOO!!!!

It's worse than that. You only pay for it when you buy something mail order from it!
How stoopid. I mean I can look at the catalogue. Choose what I like the look of and go to the shop and buy it. I have only once 'paid' for the catalogue. Never again.:rotfl:

I remember when I was a kid, ordering a catalogue to look at the lingerie section.
  • i cancelled mine just before xmas and they were fine about it i just said i use the internet to look and they said they would cancel future books
  • I cancelled mine a year or so ago.... I wasnt prepared to pay for it ~ especially when I spend a fortune in there stores ~ after my sons have looked thru it.

When I cancelled they said that they would send somebody to collect it ~ sure enough the courier duly turned up to collect it .... he totally agreed that we shouldnt have to pay for it. This money for every catalogue must add up to a small fortune!
What goes around comes around !! Simple but very true :rotfl:
