Barclaycard/MBNA BT offers?

Hi all,
Looking for some advice/feedback regarding BT offers to put my interest rates in better order..
I have a Barclaycard Platinum card taken out last year with £3200 outstanding on a 0% BT offer that expires this month, after which the rate will rise to 14.9%. I also have a further £4200 with MBNA @ 34.9%, £5500 with Egg @ 19.9%, and £1600 with Egg Money @ 16.9%. My current account has a £5k O/D facility @ 13.5% that I don't use.
Clearly my priority is to wipe the MBNA balance first - I have a payment of £2k cash arriving later on in the month, and my plan had been to use this (and some of the O/D) to pay off the Barclaycard balance, then transfer the MBNA balance across with their 6.9% LOB offer. However, a quick call to Barclays to determine whether I qualified for a BT offer revealed that I apparently don't qualify to do any balance transfers at all! The chap on the phone suggested I clear the balance and ask their retentions team if they can sort anything out for me, but I'm wary that if there's nothing available I'll have cleared my lowest rate card and will still need to find cash to pay off the MBNA card (yes - I could use my overdraft, but I'd rather not if I can avoid it).
Does anyone have any experience with this scenario? Looking back on the boards here it seems like people have mixed experience with the Barclays BT offer, but would be interested to hear from people who've been turned down for 6.9 by customer services but had subsequent success further down the line.
Another idea I was cultivating was to pay off the MBNA balance, then pester them for a decent BT offer to carry the Egg balance - does anyone have any experience getting 0%/LOB deals out of MBNA having previously been one of the 34.9% minimum payments brigade?
Getting another card is unlikely to work - my credit rating isn't in great shape as I have a few missed payments from 2003, am not on the electoral roll, and have a few recent searches to my name...
Many thanks in advance for any help,
Andy
