How much to dilute gloss paint

Hi All,

I am about to start glossing and have heard that gloss can be diluted with White spirit to make it go on easier.

My question is - how much white spirit should be added ?

Wouldn't advise it as it not only thins the paint but reduces its ability to cover.
"Owatrol" make products that don't affect the coverage but make it easier to apply. They're a bit pricy but I've found them effective.

Does it say on the tin that it can be thinned? Should be instructions on the tin?

dont do it, gloss takes longer to dry and it will run if its too thin.

get a good brush, or cut in with a brush then use a small roller. i personally now use eggshell.it dries quicker than gloss and i prefer the finish.

it also doesnt yellow like gloss does.

Just leave the gloss tin by the radiator for a while this will thin the gloss off nicely, if you have to thin it just add a small amount.
