how do i get new credit card?

Hi, can any1 help me. Ive had a credit card 4 a number of years now and looking at gettin a new 1 2 transfer the balance. since gettin 1 i have had 2 children and gone down 2 part time hours at work, although my husband is still full time i am struggling gettin a card just in my name. If i am unable 2 get 1, does any1 no if my husband gets 1 in his name, can i transfer my balance 2 his card? please help, i am paying stupid amounts of intrest.
