Poundland often has packs of 4 x AA rechargeable batteries - got some more today they had loads in. They seem to be fine, I use them in my digital camera. They're called OSEL batteries.

The Poundland ones are low capacity 800mah the Lidl AA ones are 2100mah so nearly 3 times as powerful far far better for high drain devices like cameras

  • I have a charger that can measure the capacity of a rechageable battery. The Lidl ones came out at exactly HALF of the claimed capacity in all cases.

Known brands and indeed some other cheapies are always within 10% of the claimed capacity when measured in the same way.

Amongst the discount brands GP are good.

  • The new AA LIDL eneloop type , rated at 2100 I think are tested and reported as very close to 2000.
No doubt a further trickle charge or lower voltage drop would have been above 2100.

The above makes them seem very much like most others.
