just had a call from "consumer credit advice" company, anyone know these ?
Hi there, just received a call unexpected for this company based in wales i believe, offering to help with unsecured debt, reducing the payments etc. Are these one of those type of companies with a bad reputation to avoid or worth considering ? Very pushy and irritating guy and basically told him i was busy, i know i should read through many of the threads here to find out more about this kinda stuff but any help here appreciated. He did say they are linked to comsdirect.net whoever they are.

Hi dunker1,
They look like they are one of those telephone call centre style filtering companies.
They operate by buying data and calling their list of names, in the hope of either promoting another company and taking a referral fee, or by providing a service themselves.
Have you recently applied for a loan, or received a CCJ or anything else that might have provided your details to them?
If you do have a debt problem, and are looking to get assistance, you should speak to a proper debt professional, as opposed to a call centre filterer.
Not only will you will get a great deal more help that way, but what's more, a true professional will guide you to what's best for you, rather than what's commercially best for them.
I hope this helps

Talk to one of the debt charities if you need help with debts. Do not pay this sort of company.
