Help - Plasma tv probs

Hi...In need of help. We just got a panasonic plasma tv on saturday, pleased with the picture but it has a high pitched buzz' which is constant - so bad that it gives you a headache watching it! The buzzing does change in frequency depending on what's being shown (more white = louder buzzing) but it is all the time and audible over the tv. I know plasmas do buzz but thiis is so bad you cannot watch the tv. We have tried unplugging everything from it, right down to just having the aerial plugged into the back (i.e. no Sky, no DVD, no game console) and the problem remains. We have already returned a Philips LCD which also buzzed( but not to the same extent) so we're now wondering whether it could be interference picked up from the mains... Any help would be appreciated!

Very interesting indeed. I know Plasma tv's buzz. If you go into Google and type "plasma buzzing panasonic" you will find a number of more professional electronic forums discussing the problem and buzz, but to have it on two sets, one LCD and one plasma is well, a new one....

Have you tried connecting the tv to another socket around the house? Has or does that make any changes? (Just a thought).

May be worth having a good look on the AVForum here too, if not post as you may get a quicker answer.
