Avast problem ?

Hope someone can put my mind at rest ..

The story so far is that I have been using AVG for a while now and recently it kept telling me I had Trojan downloader Comet but it couldn't heal so I decided to see if Avast could help out !
Yesterday I downloaded Avast and scanned and it came up with another Trojan (Kuang 2 ) and one of the infected files is C:/Program files/Alwil Software/Avast 4......
Does that mean that this came in with the Avast download ?

I'm a bit puzzled .

Hi . I realise that a few posts have lost their way recently .. and in the meantime I think I have found the answer to my query .. but just in case anyone had the same problem here is what I found .

A false positive is when the antivirus program reports a virus/trojan/worm (etc...) when there isn't one present.

I think all antivirii programs have some false positives, but the better ones report less.

Thanks for your reply blinky ........ so does that mean that I quarantined something that wasn't, in fact, there in the first place ? ???
