Hiya, can I be this threads "Northern stalker" please? Have only been to Brighton once(with LOADS of help from here) but i really loved it.
Comming back very soon though. You are all SO lucky to live in such a fab city.
Brighton is the most impressive place I have been to in ages.
Also can I pick your various brains please(again) Can anyone tell me the location of a 24 hour Sainsburys that is on the same retail park as a B&Q ?

  • ooh, my first ever stalker.. welcome!

there is a big sainsburys in Lewes Road (not sure if a 24hrs one though), at bottom of hollingbury rd.. this is near to a B&Q, on the barracks further along the road.

i must agree that the town* is nice, just wish it was warmer than today!

    * they only made it a city to put the taxes up! and locals still call 'Brighton Pier' by its proper name- Palace Pier!

Though actually nor is the big Hove one, or the new one at the back of London road and those aren't near a B&Q.

Going back to the Sainsburys/B&Q question...there is a Sainsburys and a B&Q together in a retail park in Lyons Way Worthing (off the Sompting Bypass A27). Not sure of the opening hours of the Sainsburys though and it's not exactly Brighton & Hove I know!

Thanks for that. It was definitely a 24 hour Sainsbury's And there was a B&Q. There was a set of traffic lights at the junction(sorry I know I am not being too helpful:o :o )
As you drive in the B&Q is on the right hand side. HGV's often park up on the road near B&Q. I got the impression that it wasn't :oin Brighton itself but within the area. not earth shatteringly important but is to do with my "great adventure" of Oct 2009.
    Again, thanks for your help.
Have a good day and stay warm.

That sounds a bit like Lyons Way. It is a right turn at a main junction with traffic lights, off the main A27 if approaching it from Brighton, towards Worthing. It is only a few miles from Brighton & Hove but I think technically it's in Sompting or East Worthing. Do you recall if you drove past Shoreham Airport and Lancing College on your way there?

In fact, Lyons Way is in a different County of course, because Sompting & Worthing are in West Sussex whereas B&Hove are in East Sussex.
