I would have thought for anther £30 this one would be better as it has a matching DVD player. (If you need one)

I heard that 100 Hz is not such a good deal either.

something about the refresh rate being slower?

Not sure but I did read something negative about it on this forum.

Something to do with our electicity is only at 50 hz and the conversion slows things up a little?

I've had a 100Hz Panasonic TV for the past few years and wasn't sure whether I would be able to notice any difference between our portable 50Hz or not.

There is a noticeable difference with the 100Hz having a nice solid picture.

Maybe on a 28" CRT TV 50Hz is alright (some people even say that 50Hz is better than 100Hz on a 28") but when it comes to 32" TVs or bigger, I would say that you really have to have 100Hz.

I remember buying a 36" Sony TV about 4/5 years ago now, (and remember spending about £1600!) and the difference in quality between the 36" with 100Hz Digital Plus really did shine through, especially when watching football matches etc, compared to the 50Hz sets.

If you are thinking of buying this Panasonic, I'd also urge you to compare it with a Sony, as it may be down to personal preference, but I don't think the colour matching is as good as that of the Sony. We've still got that Sony, and everytime we watch it, the quality still amazes me.

Anyway, that's just my two pence worth.

The 50-100hx argument is null and void for the most part as there are Tv's with good and poor pics with both specifications. Most Panasonic Sony and Toshiba are generally known within the industry to be high quality.

It's not null and void at all - it's an important feature, to reduce flicker.

But that was my point, "for the most part" as it doesent always have much effect depends what make of Tv it is. The argument was that as its 50hz its not a bargain. Just because a Tv has 100 hz does not mean you are going to get a better pic.

No, but that's not the argument. The argument is whether or not you will ever get an acceptable picture if you do not have 100Hz on a 32" TV. I would be inclined to say that you won't.
