help needed please with charges!!

hi there,
i have recieved my s a r from barclaycard, and have highlighted my charges, but would appreciate if someone would advise me if i have done this correctly please!

for instance this statement for 20th jan 2005

20 jan late payment charge, 20 jan £24.00
20 jan exceeded limit, 20 jan £24.00
20 jan interest on your standard balance £26.93

i added the late payment and the exceeded limit charges.

in total, my
exceeded limit charges for £24 = 15 times
late payment charges for £24 = 10 times

---

exceeded limit charges for £12 = 6 times
late payment charges for £12 = 3 times

---

should i then add these on the calculater on martins page, and add the interest, and then send off to bafclays?

also, at the end of the statements it says

chrgoff purch fees 29th march 2007 336.00
chgoff prch unpd fin ch 29 march 450.74
chrgoff prch prin balm 29 march 1425.72

do you know what these mean please?

The latter charges I would ask Barclaycard to clarify. The reclaim credit card charges article should answer the question you ask. Sorry I am not more useful on this one.

have been reading about it, but just wanted to make sure it was done correctly, didn't want to look stupid when asking b/c for charges!!

You cannot claim the interest you see on your statement.

However, if you enter all the charges one by one into Martin's calculator you will see a nice healthy court 8% interest amount building up.

E.g. £24 in January 2005 is about £7.60 interest, i.e. about £31.60 to reclaim.

Then make sure you print the sheet out and write to Barclays enclosing a copy. They will send one or two "sod off" letters but you will get everything back eventually if you are persistent. I speak from experience!

Sorry, don't know the answer to your last question, but would be interested to find out!

just to let you know that i have phoned b/c about the following:

chrgoff purch fees 29th march 2007 336.00
chgoff prch unpd fin ch 29 march 450.74
chrgoff prch prin balm 29 march 1425.72

but, they just said that its internal jargon, and not for me to worry about!!
i think maybe it could be my balance and the charges in totals!
will try and go into b/bank and ask!

But to comply with a SAR the information must come with notes explaining this. They still have to explain to you or send you in writing something that clarifies what those "internal" jargon means otherwise they are breaching the Data Protection Act with regards to a Subject Access Request.
