    HI Paul

No offence taken by me and none intended to you !
See where you are coming from but was not my intention, just to point out to anyone else reading the thread that it isn't like winning the lottery purely by luck ! but is carefully planned and contingencies put in place to cover "surprises" !!!

    Cheers

Your not related to Rodent by any chance ?? ;)

Seriously though, well done, you have exactly the right attitude IMO and have benefited from it. Nice One

Thanks, no were not related lol.

Before I take out any credit I look at the repayments, and say 'if I lose my regular income, how will I repay this?' and always have Plans ABC. I am now 23 and have used credit since the day I turned 18 and have never once been so much as an hour late with a payment, sometimes Ive been short of cash and that month Ive shopped at Lidl, and really gone old style, making a £1.99 chicken feed us for three days, and turning up at my mums house bang on tea time lol.

I take the view that so long as I have £500 a month coming in (which I always will with tax credits etc) to cover my mortgage and loans, everything else is secondary, they can cut off the gas/electric, cut off my phone, and live off beans on toast, but I wont miss my credit repayments.

I would sooner go through the shame of being a !!!!!! star or a nude model or an escort, because the shame of being repossessed/made bankrupt is marginally worse in my opinion lol

Well I went out with a lapdancer once, that was urm interesting shall we say ;)

I also know Rodent does a line in "mould your own willy" kits, but if it turns a profit then why not ?

Well Done on your successes

  • Cheers Rodent for the comment,

I like your style Miss K. An element of risk is involved but as del-boy once said 'Ee ou dares, wins!'

I have had a few hairy ones myself, one month around 6 years ago, I had £34 in the bank (and all credit limits were used). I thought about knocking it on the head, but I carried on. Six months later I sold a property and trousered 29k. Once all fees and such like were paid, I actually made 12k from 'nothing' as i had borrowed the money from cc's for the deposit!

Quite funny what I did with the money.

I decided to treat my long suffering partner with a mini of her choice.

We scoured the net and found one 200 miles away, phoned them up and drove down one Saturday. As they knew we had travelled a distance, they knew we must be interested.

Two hours in, I was toiling trying to get us a good deal. It had taken me an hour and a half to get my rightful trade-in value. They were trying to charge a pitiful 12%APR, and had finally got it to 9.9%APR.

The defining moment is when I said 'ok, we will take the car' to which they replied 'which finance deal would you like to take?'
I replied with 'after careful thought and consideration, I shall pay it cash'

Never seen someone's attitude as much lol. Never reveal your position because if they know where your at, they will try and exploit it.
