HELP!! Planning Lads Holiday to Magaluff

Hi Everyone,
Me and my friends have decided that we will have one last lads holiday before we all settle down and have chosen to go to Magaluff in Majorca. Unfortunately I have been landed with the organising of it all, well kind of anyway?!
Basically I have so far looked for packaged holidays on travelsupermarket.com then flights only on easy jet and ryanair but cant seem to find the best and cheapest solution. There will be around ten of us looking to go around June or July.
What is the best option, book flights and hotels seperately or get a packaged holiday. We want self catering and a four or five star hotel would be ideal.
If anyone has done this before or anyone has any useful tips or advice for the best and cheapest way to get there and back, I would be most grateful.
Thanks
MM

you might be best to decide on a couple hotels first and then go from there to see whats better deal wise, ie decide on a week and narrow down a couple hotels etc then search on line and in the travel agents to see whats the best deal, a group of 10 should get some sort of discount
also are your mates good at paying up?? i know when my brother arranged this he had a few mates that were a pain in the bum about paying, just something you need to consider if you pay the lot on credit card and they pay you, when they did a 2nd holiday in a group, they specifically booked with a high street travel agent and set up an account so each person could pay seperatly there as and when within a set time frame so he wasnt left paying the interest on his c/card waiting to be paid that time roundMFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
Hi anna42hmr,
Thanks for that I will check that option out now.
Which ever way we go, I will be getting the money up front and then paying. They are good at paying put with 10 people going I dont think I have enough left on my credit card to pay for everyone.
Thanks again

I would go into a travel agents i use holiday hypermarket and find them really helpful at getting the best deals for me, at least that way you can get all your points across and check for group discounts etc and plus as above said you can all get ur seperate invoices to pay0

If you want a 'proper' lads holiday then trying going to http://bookings.firstchoice.co.uk/2wentys/ club 2wentys is owned by first choice & they do a lot of packaged self catering deals to Magaluf & other party islands, worth taking a look at, although don't know if they have any 4 or 5 star hotels, they will probably be basic accomodation.0
-
Done this a few years ago myself, googled 'Travel Agents in Mallorca', and booked the accomodation direct with them, with flights and 4 nights decent acomm, we paid approx 200 STG pp.(Turned0

Fiesta Jungla is run by Thomson and is good for a laugh. Basic but 3 star self catering and always lively, but friendly as well. In 2006 we paid £254 with flights and this year it is £410 for the same time and that was a package with Thomson.
The problem is now its hard to justify a visit with the Euro the way it is. Whereas once the all-inclusive night club BCM would cost around £15-£20, prices last year were 35 Euros to 40 Euros and with a near straight conversion it makes for an expensive night. Drinks in the other clubs for bottles is around 6-8 Euros, again severly expensive this year if it stays that way.
Make sure the others will pay you though, I had the same problem booking a holiday, the stress stopped as soon as I got on the plane for the problems with people backing out before hand.0 -
I have also stayed at Fiesta Jungla, basic apartments but great location, price and atmosphere, we went in May through Thomsons for about £20 a night split between four of us! With the Euro exchange rate being so poor, definitely worth keeping costs down if you can.Wins this year: Jet2 flight (£110). £500 Heart fm. Phil Collins Love songs cd (£5.99)0

Thanks for all your replies,
Very helpful so will set about today looking for the best option. Dont worry all the money will be getting paid to me in advance before I even pay for it
Now that you mention about the Euro, does anyone think this will pick up in the next six months?
Thanks,0
