Ok............can read the old original Win 98 drive (jumpers set as master)...........no problem.........but how to access all the stuff on the 80gb file.....any suggestions

It depends more on the computer it came out of rather than the drive. It's possible that the PC is so old it needed disk management software to make the PC see the full 80gb. If it has, then reading it 'normally' is going to be difficult.

If you can read the main drive from that PC, look for a software folder under the name of the 80gb drive manufacturer (Seagate, Western Digital etc). It may give a clue towards whether disk management software was needed.

Will have a look now..........but come to think of it I think I did have to run some sort of disk management software to use the 80gb drive
