Hello,
I have just moved to the UK from the US and am interested in opening up a brokerage account. I used to use Ameritrade and was very happy with their customer service, but it appears that they do not offer a UK service.
I am considering ETrade, Hoodless Brennan and HSBC DirectInvest (the latter one because I bank with HSBC and their fees appear to be competitive).
I am not an active trader (one trade every 2-3 months) and I don't need sophisticated technical analysis tools, but would like the ability to enter stop-loss and stop-limit orders.
Does anyone have any suggestions? If it's a question of a couple of pounds per trade, I'd be willing to look at more expensive services too.
Regards.

I use SelfTrade - good service. Real time trading £12.50 per trade but you can get that down to £1.50 on purchases if you use the "Regular Investment" feature.0
