contacted wanadoo several times but still the same they said that they would send a new modem to try
why would it start doing this after 3 months,
everything was alright up till 2 week ago and northing has changed on my computer as far as i know,

Have you changed anything else e.g. the phones in your house, cables etc?
I mean, I had a friend who couldn't get connected to Wanadoo because his cable was too long! ::)"...And I gave that man directions, even though I didn't know the way, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am this week." -- Homer Simpson0 -

No this just started for no reason internet was fine then started to play up0 -
That's a bit weird - I don't have a clue! :-/
Is the modem running off a hub, or is it directly connected to the USB port?
Also, have you tried running the diagnostic software that came with the modem?"...And I gave that man directions, even though I didn't know the way, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am this week." -- Homer Simpson0 -
Have you got call waiting on your telephone line? How do I add a signature?0

it`s connected to usb port
Santa claus
i reloaded the drivers that came with the modem pack and don`t have call waiting tried fault diagnostics but northing, also tried a ping test that did not work either,
internet comes on and of by it`s self, can stay on for 5/10 mins or 1/2 hrs0 -
Could you maybe give more details like:
1) What's your operating system (and if Windows XP any service packs)?
2) Are you using any firewall software?
3) Have you done an antivirus/spyware scan? (Some viruses can cause disconnection.)
4) Have you installed any new software recently?
5) Did Wanadoo [ask BT to] test the phone line? (I'm presuming they did, if they're blaming the modem.)
If you suspect the modem, you could perhaps try the modem on a friend's computer and see if it works ok?"...And I gave that man directions, even though I didn't know the way, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am this week." -- Homer Simpson0 -
I had a similar problem causing irregular disconnection with Wanadoo broadband.
When you get disconnected, do you have both the green lights on your modem permanently lit or is one flashing red?
In my case one light was flashing red but when I picked the phone up both lights turned green.
After lots of phone calls, "technical" assistance and a visit from BT to assess my telephone system the problem turned out to have been induced by an "essential as part of your contract" SKY telephone connection.
Cue irate phone call to SKY for
A) another connection to be fitted and
reimbursement for cost of BT Engineers visit as I was billed because the fault was not with their equipment
All is now well but this problem took more than a month to totally clear.
Hope this is helpful

Thanks for your input everyone wanadoo have sent me a new setup modem filters etc, one thing i noticed the filters i recived at first where the speedtouch ones, this time they are Excelsus and everything seems to be working alright, I was thinking maybe it was the cheap speedtouch filters that was the problem0

Glad to hear that your problem's been sorted out!

I'm using Speedtouch filters and don't have problems with them...
yet! ;D"...And I gave that man directions, even though I didn't know the way, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am this week." -- Homer Simpson0
