Regular PC To Laptop?

Hi All

I have a PC which is going really well and has done so for the past 7 years, however I have been thinking of purchasing a laptop to replace it, simply sue to the fact that a laptop would be less clumsy etc.

My questions are as follows:

1. Would a laptop present limitations over a regular PC, provided the spec on both were the same?

2. What price would I looking at for a decent laptop.

3. I don't want to be left in the situation of having a PC in storage, do any companies offer trade ins etc?

Thanks in advance.

laptops by shear fact of size etc are more fragile compared to a desk top , the balance is moblity both will function on games etc depending on budget the later the game the better the pc .Price i'll leave to others .Desktops will be upgradeable over lappies but in truth any modern lappie will do 70 percent of what most floks want out of the box . With the old one there is always freecucle or ebay if you are worried about your data take the hard drive out and use it as an external drive for the lappie

FS, BIG question is what you want the new PC/lappy to do? where, what for and how much you want to spend... Until you answer those questions it is very hard to define what you as a user will actually require... I use both, prefer my home based PC with 24" screen for internet and games, graphics and photographs as my lappy will not handle the latter....

For munhcing and vedging in front of the tv downstairs while surfing the lappy is brilliant, however not powerful enough for photographic stuff and gaming (COD5, etc).

You need to decide what you want it for... ;):D

Unless travelling / working away from home, a Desktop is better with a proper keyboard, larger screen, easier to upgrade and repair. You can get smaller towers now.

Prices vary from a few hundred (depending on spec)

If you just replace the tower you will save on the monitor/mouse/keyboard etc.
