Talk to your uni about it, I think it's best not to do anything until you are 100% better and then make a decision then, based on what you think you are capable of. Just concentrate on getting better! :j

I would also recommend TSR (http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/) for help and advice ... a lot more students on there who may have been in a similar situation.

Due to illness and the fact that I was going through some exceedingly traumatic events which came to a head mid my finals, I ended up leaving my course with just a few exams left to do. I never thought I would ever return to my course, but with the help of my doctors, the hospital, my mum, my course leader and my uni as a whole, after seven years away from my course I returned to sit the remaining classes and the exams. I did this part time over the year, which enabled me to ease back into my studies without bombarding myself. Don't get me wrong, it was hard, as I had not studied or written an essay in all that time and now I not only had to do it, but do it to a standard good enough for my 3rd year degree finals! I did it and so can you. I never for an instance thought I would be able to return to my course and then after gaining my degree I even started a masters, so it can be done! Don't give up and talk to your uni and course leaders. Without their support you are never going to do it but if they are behind you and you also have support from your doctors and hospital (if applicable) as well as any friends and family, you can do it. Just take your time and decide what is best for you. I wish you the best of luck with your studies, take care.
  • Shyler, your reply is reassuring.

However, I still can't decide what's best for me. I am starting a 6 week taster course in Forensics, so even it just gets me back in to an academic way of thinking it'll have been worth it.
  • Well, to up date, I still have had no reply from either my Senior Tutor or Personal Tutor regarding my possible return to study in Autumn 2008. Consequently, I am having doubts whether to return to Uni or not. It certainly isn't giving me the confidence to return.

The size of a glory hole in an open pit should not be greater than the cross-section of the haul trucks that dump into it. Otherwise, you are bound to lose a truck, sooner or later. Source: Sergio Cha

I'm sorry for the demon I've become but you should be sorry for the angel you are not.
  • Ok. Had reply from Senior Tutor and have received the assignment I need.

I think my main problem now is getting back into study and wracking my brains for info I learnt in the first year. Not gonna be easy methinks.
