What recorder to use with Freesat box?

I had a Humax Freesat box installed a few months ago, but my old video recorder won't work with it. I can only record analogue, and only the programme I am watching, which isn't much use!
I am completely useless at technical stuff, so can anyone advise me on what equipment to buy, which would enable me to record programmes?

You need to set the video record to av. By the way video recorder only records in analogue signal it converts digital to analogue on the tape
Freesat one scart to tv (TV scart) the other to the video recorder (it should say on the back of the box VCR Scart. Video recorder scart goes to tv

Your freesat box only has one tuner therefore you can only record the programme that its tuned to, as stated above.
To have Sky+ like functions you need a Freesat PVR.
The only one available at the moment is from Humax @ about £300.

Thanks folks. So 'scuse me being somewhat stoopid, but does that mean that if I buy a hard disc recorder I could record a different programme to the one I'm watching???Always look on the bright side of life ....la la la la la la la la0

Not unless the HD recorder has its own Freesat tuner (which only the Humax Freesat PVR has at present).There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
