Error in readings when I switched

Hi - I switched gas/elec suppliers back in April 08; haven't really thought about it except I've had a New Year financial sort through and noticed there is an error on the readings. NPower (the old supplier) have a final reading of 13822 whereas E-on (the new supplier) have a reading of 13536, thats 286 m3 less. So we've overpaid one of them c. £60 more than necessary. I emailed E-on with their reading (so could be my error) but cannot remember how NPower got theirs. Question is ..is there any chance of getting this back off one of the suppliers? And if so, who should i approach first? If it was my fault, do you think i would have a chance of recompense? I have copies of the final bill from April 08.
Many Thanks in advance

It looks as if you have overpaid your current supplier. To me, it seems easier to get a credit from them rather than your old supplier. I would write to them with copies of the relevant statements and ask for the appropriate amount to be credited to your account.

Hi - It was much easier than I suspected. I rang old supplier as I knew I had given the right reading to my new supplier. They took the details, said someone would contact new supplier and if new supplier confirmed readings were as I stated, then they would refund me
Only downside was that it would take 4-6 weeks; still good news though; its £65 I didn't have before:D
