amr file wont set as ring/message tone on my samsung, how do i change it?

my partner has sony ericson 550i phone, he has a "hey beautiful" (wolf whistle) as standard as ring/message tone. he bluetoothed it to me and my samsung u600 wont allow me to set it as a ring/message tone, although it will play. it comes in as an AMR file
is there any way of changing it so it will play?

I think you need to convert the amr file to mp3. That's what my ringtones are on my Samsung. You can google for "amr to mp3".
I use an application called "Super" that can convert from/to lots of formats. Details are here. http://www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html0
