I have just ordered the furminator (sp) and it is highly recommended, not cheap but soposedly brilliant.
i will have a bengal soon, and although they dont really shed, its nice to get all the dead hair off.
i personally would chop off the clumps and groom with a good brush very regular as it seems he/she cannot do this anymore x:cool:0 -
oops and may i add..i did hairdressing a while ago, so am handy with scissors, please be very carefull, and try and tease the clumps of matted hair before anything.:cool:0

cats will often wriggle - better to be safe than sorry. I found cats do not like their fur being `teased' when there are mats - better to cut them off & groom regularly to prevent them occuring. Often the skin underneat the `mats' is sore/sensitive so they will not want you to spend time fiddling with them.0 -

Not sure how old that record is but we had a client with a 28 year old cat some years ago! He was still alive when I left the practice and in very good health so I'm sure he would have reached at least 30“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
